This Privacy Policy explains how Squareposh (“Squareposh,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit squareposh.com, contact us, or work with us on a project. Squareposh is a web design studio based in Casa Grande, Arizona, United States. If you have any questions, email meg@squareposh.com.

The short version

• We collect what you choose to send us, such as your name, email address and project details, plus the basic technical information every website receives.
• We use it to reply to you, to quote and deliver your project, and to keep this site secure.
• We do not sell your personal information, and this site does not use advertising or tracking cookies.
• You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information at any time.

Information we collect

Information you give us

• Enquiries. When you use our contact form we collect your name, email address, business or brand name, budget range and the project details you write. The same applies when you email us directly.
• Client projects. When we work together we may receive business details, website content, images, account access you choose to share (for example to your website, domain or hosting), and the information needed to invoice you.
• Email updates. If we ever offer a newsletter and you choose to subscribe, we collect your email address to send it. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe.

Information collected automatically

• Server logs. Like almost every website, our hosting servers record technical details of each visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These logs are used for security, troubleshooting and preventing abuse.
• Cookies. This site uses only the cookies it needs to work, such as security, caching and sign-in cookies for site administrators. It does not use advertising cookies, and it does not currently use analytics. If that changes, we will update this policy first.

How we use your information

• To respond to your enquiry and send you a quote.
• To deliver the services you hire us for, manage the project and send invoices.
• To communicate with you about your project, including after launch.
• To keep this website secure and working properly.
• To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on these legal bases: taking steps at your request before entering a contract, and performing that contract; our legitimate interests in running and securing our business; your consent, where we ask for it; and compliance with the law.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We share it only with service providers that help us run the business, who may use it only to provide their services to us:

• Website hosting: Hostinger hosts this website and its server logs.
• Email: Google Workspace handles our email, including the messages sent through the contact form.
• Fonts: this site loads some of its fonts from Google Fonts. To deliver them, Google receives your IP address and browser information. See Google’s Privacy Policy (opens in a new tab).
• Payments: invoices are paid through third-party payment processors. We never see or store your full card number.
• Project platforms and tools: the platforms we build on for you (such as Squarespace, WordPress and WooCommerce) and the tools we use to design, build and manage projects.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information.

Access to your accounts

If you give us access to your website, domain, hosting or other accounts, we use it only to do the work you asked for, we keep your login details private, and we never share them. We recommend changing any passwords you shared once the project is handed over.

How long we keep information

We keep enquiries and project correspondence for as long as needed to respond to you and to support your project, and generally no longer than three years after our last contact. We keep invoices and financial records for as long as tax and accounting law requires. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.

Security

We protect your information with reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) on this site, access controls, and reputable providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take it seriously and will tell you promptly if a problem affects your information.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live (for example California or another US state with a privacy law, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom), you may have the right to:

• know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
• correct information that is inaccurate;
• ask us to delete your information;
• object to or restrict certain uses of it, or withdraw consent you gave;
• receive your information in a portable format; and
• opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share it, but we honor these requests and Global Privacy Control signals all the same.

To make a request, email meg@squareposh.com. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will respond within the time the law allows, usually within 30 days. You may use an authorized agent to make a request for you. We will never treat you differently for exercising your rights. If you are in the EEA or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children’s privacy

This website and our services are for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

International visitors

We are based in the United States, and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. By contacting us or working with us, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those where you live.

Links to other websites

Our portfolio links to websites we have built for clients and to other sites we do not control. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed. If we make a significant change, we will make it clear on this page.
